This basement apartment was created in a basement with the intention to become a legal secondary dwelling. Fire separations, sound control/transfer and the logistics of sharing electricity and water were all considered. The apartment is completely self contained, and is operated as both a long term rental and a short term rental as the homeowner requires. To this end, the bathroom contains a laundry unit, the kitchen is easy to navigate for first-time users, and priority was placed on creating cozy, livable bedrooms.
